In the mountainous area of Troodos, at an altitude of 800 meters, Millikouri village proudly emerges. It is located in the Nicosia district and specifically in the region of Marathasa. Milikouri is located near the Holy Monastery of Kykkos, which gives its blessing to this wonderful place. According to testimonies, Millikouri was established since the medieval times. There are several interesting versions of the origin of its name: one of the predominant versions proposes that Milikouri came from the union of the villages of the Dariysos, Milon and Kourion valleys, whose inhabitants settled in this area for better protection from Arab invasions and other raids.
Milikouri has two churches, one dedicated to St. Georgios and the other to St. Andronikos and Athanasios. The church of St. Georgios was built in 1726 and is a three-aisled royal temple. Its right aisle is dedicated to St. Minas, the middle is dedicated to Panagia Eleousa and the left to St. Georgios. In the famous iconostasis of the church of St. Georgios there are many historical icons, among which is the old icon of Panagia Agriotissa, dating back to 1523, which was transferred to the temple from the Monastery of Panagia of Arkas located just outside the village. The Monastery of Panagia of Arkas was abandoned and deserted in the late 18th century.
Also, great was the contribution of residents in the national liberation struggle of EOKA, 1955-59, against the British colonialists. The closest collaborators of the leader of EOKA, Giorgos Grivas Dighenis, were from Milikouri. The English troops in their attempt to capture Digenis and his team, forced the residents to a 54 curfew. In the precinct of the temple of St. Georgios there is a monument dedicated to the liberation struggle of EOKA in honor of those who fought against the British. There is also a monument, which was erected at the expense of the Holy Monastery of Kykkos, with busts of the missing villagers of the war.
The nature trail "Katoudia", which is about three kilometers long and located in Pedoula-Kykkou / Gerakies-Kykkou route, offers visitors the chance to enjoy nature in diverse ways, by encountering its wild vegetation, birds and animals and even the Cypriot mouflon. Moreover, the waterfall of "Letria", which occurs when rainfall in adequate, is also spectacular and its worth a visit. From Milikouri you can also visit the Diarizos valley, a rare spot of defined beauty, as well as the Tzelefos bridge, which is located near the village. On the slopes of the mountains in spring, one can also distinguish the fragrant wild rose and the blooming almond trees.
A tour to the village will also be memorable. Visitors can walk through the narrow streets of the village and enjoy Cypriot coffee and traditional sweets, and visit Komititzi picnic site. One can also visit the main square of the village, which is shaded by an enormous old plane tree ("gero-platanos"), which is equally atmospheric. In the village, there is also a small guest house, which can accommodate visitors.

The biggest festivals taking place in the village are those on August 15, which last about 10 days, and the one dedicated to St. Minas, which is commemorated on November 11.
